BSN, RN, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Candidate
With 15 years of healthcare experience and a deep commitment to mental wellness, I bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and compassionate care to my practice.
My journey began at Colorado State University Pueblo, where I earned bachelor’s degrees in both Biology/Chemistry and Nursing. Over the years, I’ve built a diverse clinical background, including specialized experience in Telemetry and Pediatrics, as well as 11 years in Public Health and School Health Services. This varied experience has shaped a comprehensive understanding of how physical and mental health intersect—particularly in young patients.
In October 2023, I completed an Advanced Leadership Training through the Regional Institute for Health and Environmental Leadership, a 10-month program focused on advocacy, systems thinking, and policy change in healthcare. This training deepened my understanding of how leadership and clinical practice intersect—particularly in the mental health field. It has directly informed my approach as I complete my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program at Walden University, where I aim to combine evidence-based care with a broader commitment to health equity and systemic impact.
My clinical interests include adolescent and young adult mental health, with a focus on supporting individuals navigating complex grief, trauma, and challenging family dynamics. I believe meaningful connection and genuine understanding are essential to effective treatment. My goal is to empower patients to be active participants in their care—ensuring they feel heard, validated, and supported throughout their journey. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where healing and growth can flourish.
