My name is Elice Mrema-Thairu, and I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I chose to specialize in psychiatry to improve the care and management of mental
health disorders. I believe my extensive experience in nursing and having worked in
many nursing specialties will be a great addition to my practice as a PMHNP. I earned
my Bachelor of Nursing from Columbus University as an alumnus and three years later
completed a master’s in nursing specializing in mental health from Walden University. I
have worked as a bedside RN for over 13 years, with different ages across lifespans in
the hospital setting, and that experience has influenced my motto as an NP: to take
patient-centered care to another level and increase patient partnership. My treatment
goals aim at providing holistic care to all patients across their lifespans, incorporating
physical health, spiritual health, and well-being.
Outside work, I like to spend time with family, watching movies or interesting TV series,
meditating, and working out.
